More about me

So you really are into me, are you? Ok, let's see...

I fell in love with computers when I saw the first Commodore 64, but I didn't know that then. So when the time to choose a career came, I decided to become a physicist and study at Balseiro Institute. You needed to take a two year physics course on some other university before applying to Balseiro, so I started Electronics engineering at UTN - FRM.

In 1994, I got my first computer and started tinkering with it. The same year, a little later, several things happened: I got into C, they were teaching me Pascal at UTN, but a fellow student convinced me about studying C on my own time. The same comrade lend me a 2400 bps US Robotics modem which allowed me to get into the BBS underworld. Thank you Hwang Fan Her, wherever you might be, it's strange to see how some people hugely affects your life and then you never know from them again.

Being in the BBS world allowed me to be between the very first people who knew about Linux in Mendoza, that eventually lead me to get into the FLOSS world.

In 1997 I decided to switch careers and started Computer Sciences at FCFMN at San Luis National University. A couple of years later I dropped formal education definitely. Since then, I decide what to learn.

I like creational processes, so I enjoy being a programmer. Also I love growing a garden and sometimes also vegetables... I mean those you eat. I make my own compost since 1998, and started using eisenia foetida a year later. So my garden is well fed. I get pleasure from building stuff with wood, but I haven't got into it as deep as I would like yet, I'm still flirting with wood. Finally, I'm a pretty darn good cook, though I cannot follow a recipe without changing bits here and there.

I have three beautiful offsprings who have taken their beauty from my wife. It couldn't be from me since I'm an ugly furry bastard. I live close to the farms in the country, in Mendoza, Argentina. One day I will own one too.
